The SATs tests taken by Y6 pupils in May 2016 were a new assessment system, the first based on the new and more challenging national curriculum introduced 2 years ago.  Scaled scores have replaced levels. A scaled score of 100 represents working at the expected standard.

Government statistics put Meanwood in the top 11% of primary schools throughout the whole of England for the progress our children make!  What a credit to our amazing children and our talented staff team.

We are delighted with another year's good results which show year on year improvements in the standards our children reach.  Level 4 is the expected standard for 11 year olds.  65% of children achieving Level 4 is the government's "floor standard."

Progress 2015

Children are expected to make 2 levels of progress from Year 2 to Year 6, eg from Level 1 to Level 3, Level 2 to Level 4, or Level 3 to Level 5. 

Reading: 98% made expected progress and 44% made more than expected progress

(national average 91% expected progress, 33% more than expected progress)

Writing: 96% made expected progress and 58% made more than expected progress

(national average 90% expected progress, 34% more than expected progress)

Maths: 100% made expected progress and 35% made more than expected progress

(national average 95% expected progress, 34% more than expected progress)
