Meanwood Sure Start Children's Centre

Meanwood Sure Start Children's Centre is located on the same site as Meanwood Primary School, in front of our Infant building.

The centre provides advice and support from the time of expecting a baby right through until children are entering the reception class. Staff can signpost parents to a wide range of services working with families, children or adults.

There are a range of activities going on each week and new parents are always warmly welcomed to join in and attend. During school holidays, there are activities which you can also bring your primary age children to.

Further information about the centre can be found on the Rochdale Council website. The link below will take you directly to the Council's website which will open in a new window.

Meanwood Primary School is a partner agency of Rochdale Foodbank (Link opens in a new window).  Our school are helping to collect and donate food for families, which will be distributed by the foodbank to families in need in Rochdale.

Meanwood School and Meanwood Children's Centre also hold a number of food vouchers which we can give to families from our school or who use the Children's Centre.  The voucher can then be taken to the foodbank and exchanged for 3 days of food and essential items for the whole family. This is available to anyone who needs support in a crisis situation, eg if a parent has had benefits stopped, a crisis loan refused or has had an emergency to deal with that has left them without money to buy food.

If you or someone you know is struggling to feed their children, please speak in confidence to the head teacher at Meanwood Primary School or the Centre Manager at Meanwood Children's Centre.
